Take two - Another MadSlide - in Pictures

I'm not
really sure why I built a second MadSlide... I just wanted something
to build I suppose; I already had the grey SB96 profile foam cores
and a stack of sheet balsa and a plan, in pieces from last time, so
off I went taking my time to build this lovely little plane. This second version was a little different with slightly more wing area but it came out a little heavier than my first offering at around 2,5 square metres and 1,4kg before I have flown it and adjusted the deliberate forward CG. I also made the tailplane detachable if it needed to come off for any transport reason. No matter, I built it and here's a few images rather than a step-by-step story. |

I used a filed down wheel collet with grub screw to hold the modified, removable tailplane dowel in place. The dowel has a piano wire insert at the tip of the carbon joiner tube. |
